When Worry Starts to Rise
A reflection on loosening worry's hold.
Worry begins when we believe we must carry what God has already promised to hold.
It shows up quietly — a thought, a tightening, a small attempt to manage tomorrow.
But Jesus directs our eyes elsewhere:
Behold the fowls of the air… Consider the lilies…
— Matthew 6 (KJV)
Not to romanticize them, but to notice how they live.
They receive what is given, day by day.
They are cared for without striving, held without anxiety.
Worry pulls us into tomorrow. Love stays present in today.
